Cllr Nweeda Khan

Chair

Bio

Nweeda is a Councillor in Preston and is Cabinet Member for Communities and Social Justice. She also has an extensive history in Social Work.

Atiquah
Vohra

Vice Chair

Bio

Atiquah has a background in law, and is a legal, governance and compliance specialist with an interest in governance of public and private companies.

Christine Blythe

Treasurer

Bio

Christine is the Chief Officer of Burnley, Pendle and Rossendale Council for Voluntary Services. She also sits on the Lancashire Association of Councils for Voluntary Service.

Charu Ainscough OBE DMS CIPD

Secretary

Bio

Charu worked as a Senior Equal Opportunities Officer for Lancashire County Council. She now sits on Lancashire Forum of Faiths. In 2010, she was awarded an OBE for services to black and minority ethnic communities in Lancashire.

Ishwer Tailor MBE JP DL

Trustee

Bio

Ishwer spent 25 years working in Business Development for Lancashire County Council’s economic arm. He was awarded an Honorary Fellowship from the University of Central Lancashire in 2005.

Shahida
Hanif

Trustee

Bio

Shahida has worked in the NHS for many years. Her work as a Public Health Development Manager, Public Health Nurse and Health Promotion Specialist provides a wealth of healthcare expertise to the board.

Mohammad Rafique Malik

Trustee

Bio

Rafique was a Councillor between 1976 and 2006 and was mayor of Burnley. He was also Chair of the Burnley Racial Equality Council. Before moving to the UK, Rafique was a teacher in Pakistan.

Uddin

Trustee

Bio

Sadar has a background in housing and now helps run the Bangladeshi Welfare Association. He also has a knowledge of business development.

Joanne Birkner

Bio

Joanne works in the care sector and currently manages a care home in Lancashire. She has a vested interest in mental health services.

Iftikhar

Bio

Saba works for Pennine Oaks and takes part in a lot of voluntary work in Lancashire. She has a particular interest in refugee work.

Claire
Smith

Trustee

Bio

Claire is Head of Culture and Engagement at Community Gateway, and was previously the Head of People Services. She has previous experience working in Human Resources. 

Mohammed Omar Zaman

Trustee

Bio

Omar manages a community centre in Lancashire and runs a number of community initatives. He has a background in business development.
